Greenburgh police are investigating a pedestrian vs. car accident in Hartsdale. The incident happened around 2 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of West Hartsdale Avenue in the Greenburgh-Hartsdale area. The initial call was for a pedestrian vs. vehicle accident. Officers with Greenburgh police haven't released any details on what caused the crash. "I called the police department, they said fortunately, it was not fatal. The person did have some injuries but they weren't serious injuries," says Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner. Feiner says any accident of this kind is disheartening and, where it happened has been a spot on his radar for years. He is talking about how narrow and uneven the edges of the road is for walkers and bicyclists. That's why he has been trying to make it safer. "We got a grant from New York state a few years ago that will enable the town to build a sidewalk from Central Avenue and West Hartsdale Avenue, all the way close to the library," says Feiner. Work on those sidewalks is slated to start late next year or early 2026. "
