'On To the Next!' Chiefs' Xavier Worthy Looking Ahead to Bengals

One of the Kansas City Chiefs' biggest standouts in their Week 1 win against the Baltimore Ravens was rookie receiver Xavier Worthy, who finished his debut with two touchdowns.

Worthy's speed was on full display in the game, as he ran in a jet sweep from 21 yards out for the Chiefs' first touchdown of the season, and also caught Patrick Mahomes' only touchdown pass of the night in the second half to secure the win for Kansas City.

When speaking to the media on Wednesday, Worthy discussed what has gone through his head since the hot start.

"It's been cool to have that, and to do what I did on Thursday," said Worthy. But, I have this 24-hour rule. You do it, you live it out, and then you forget about it. It's on to the next. So, I'm on to the next."

Clearly, Worthy has higher aspirations for himself in 2024 and beyond than just two touchdowns in Week 1.

Selected with the 28th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Texas, the Chiefs picked Worthy to bring some speed to their receivers room that they've lacked since Tyreek Hill's departure in 2022. Worthy certainly brings speed, as he holds the record for the fastest 40-yard dash in NFL Combine history at 4.21-seconds.

Worthy and the Chiefs will now look ahead to their Week 2 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. The Bengas will be coming in hungry for their first win after being upset by the New England Patriots in Week 1.
