ESPN Responds With Big 'ManningCast' Announcement After All-Time Low Ratings

ESPN's first Monday Night Football broadcast of the year was a rousing success, but the same was not true for Peyton and Eli Manning's 'ManningCast.'

Despite having Bill Belichick, Adam Sandler, and Chris Jones on as guests for their broadcast of the San Francisco 49ers 32-19 victory over the New York Jets, the ManningCast drew an average of just 872,000 viewers throughout the game.

Some folks have wondered whether or not those low viewership numbers would lead to ESPN considering the future of the ManningCast, and they have. However, they didn't make the move expected of them, as they announced that the ManningCast will be broadcasting Super Bowl LXI in 2027 when ESPN hosts the big game.

“If we didn’t, I think I’d have a problem with those two fellows. But yeah, that’s gonna be definitely a part of it.” - Burke Magnus, Front Office Sports

ESPN's president of content, Burke Magnus, confirmed that the ManningCast will be broadcasting the Super Bowl in 2027, indicating that the sports media behemoth is not worried about recent low viewership totals.

So even as the ManningCast got off to a slow start in the 2024 season, there's still a lot of time for them to turn things around, but regardless of what happens, it seems like they will be calling the Super Bowl in a few years.
