Zavion Thomas is ready for a breakout game for the Tigers

Last year Zavion Thomas had 40 receptions and one touchdown for Mississippi State. He’s already matched that touchdown total in Baton Rouge but looks primed to far exceed those numbers in 2024.

Zavion spoke to the media this week about the explosiveness he brings to the offense and special teams.

Did you hear that the return game was lacking and did that motivate you to come here and change it?

Zavion: I’ve heard it a lot and stuff like that especially during the offseason. I just have the confidence to go out there and catch the ball and make a play every time especially on punt returns.

How are you enjoying LSU so far?

Zavion: I love it, real brotherhood and stuff like that. I have players on the team that I haven’t known for very long but it feels like I’ve known them for a long time so it’s a good thing.

Is it important to keep a positive attitude towards what you are able to accomplish?

Zavion: Everybody on our team is capable of making a play when their number is called so we don't get caught up in the run game and stuff like that. At the end of the day, we have the best O-line in the nation so we’re not really worried about that.
