Sadly, many pro wrestlers, both active and retired, have had to turn to websites like GoFundMe in recent years to get the financial help they require. Sometimes, this is due to wear and tear on their bodies catching up to them or because of unfortunate accidents or health issues. And now, sadly joining them is 70-year-old Rip Rogers, who has launched a GoFundMe to pay for his needed surgery. Precisely what his medical condition is wasn’t confirmed, but he is trying to raise $200,000.

Rogers broke into the business in 1975 and subsequently worked for multiple territories, including Pacific Northwest Wrestling, Calgary Stampede Wrestling, and the Continental Wrestling Association. However, most fans likely remember him best for his time working as an enhancement talent for WCW in the ’90s, putting over future WWE Hall of Famers like Ron Simmons, Big Van Vader, and Davey Boy Smith.

Yet, despite being considered a journeyman wrestler, he still established himself as a top trainer via Ohio Valley Wrestling when it was a developmental territory for WWE, notably being involved in teaching John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Shelton Benjamin, Batista, and Randy Orton.
