Jeopardy! fans were left "super disappointed" by a controversial figure that was featured in one of the trivia clues as they agree that he is "not worthy" of being featured on the show.

During Thursday evening's episode contestants Bethany Korp, Mark Palmere, and Will Weiss all took the stage for a challenging round of Jeopardy! And while they showed off their impressive knowledge throughout the game, some viewers were fuming over one clue that featured a problematic Canadian psychologist and author.

The controversy arose during the first round of the episode after host Ken Jennings read off a clue in the 'A self-helping of Books' category. The question read: "'12 Rules for Life' is from this controversial Torontonian who also has thoughts about endangered masculinity."

To which Will correctly answered "Jordan Peterson" and was awarded $1,000 points. And while the trivia question did include the word "controversial" many viewers at home were still frustrated that his name was brought up to begin with.

In a newly posted Reddit thread, one user wrote: "Jordan Peterson is not worthy of being a Jeopardy clue. Disappointing to see him on there." To which someone else agreed: "Super disappointing considering his stance against trans people." And someone else chimed in: "trivia usually comes with a disclaimer of 'being in a question is not any form of endorsement' (as in LearnedLeague) with but yeah, I think you could have come up with literally anyone else there."

This comes as the 62-year-old clinical psychologist and professor of Psychology at the University of Toronto was asked to undergo "professional coaching" after sharing a series of problematic posts on X, formerly Twitter. In March, 2020 the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee (ICRC) of the College of Psychologists of Ontario investigated the posts which were alleged to be "transphobic, sexist, racist" and "not in keeping with any clinical understanding of mental health."

The ICRC concluded that some of the language used in his public statements between January 2022 and June 2022 "may be reasonably regarded by members of the profession as disgraceful, dishonorable and/or unprofessional" and that his statements "posed moderate risk of harm to the public" by "undermining public trust in the profession of psychology." While he tainted his public perception, Jordan did not lose his practicing license but needed to pay legal fees and undergo media training.
