Joe Burrow bounce back, an Arizona over, and other best bets this week in the NFL and college football

It’s incredible to have football back, both NFL and college. The seasons have just begun but have already been very entertaining to say the least. On the most recent episode of Good, Bettor, Bets , we broke down the third week of college action, as well as the second of the NFL.

That included some puzzling lines, odds to stay away from, and of course, some best bets. As always, let’s win some money.

    (20) Arizona at (14) Kansas State (-7) - O/U 60.5 - money line: Arizona +220

The Arizona Wildcats are a pretty funky team right now. There are a lot of talented skill position players but they are coming off of a bizarre game against Northern Arizona. Quarterback Noah Fifita and wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan are excellent, but both have been a bit inconsistent so far. The spread feels right for this game, but an interesting bet would be the team total over/under for Arizona, which is set for 24.5. When the Wildcats are right, they have a tremendous offense. Taking the over is an interesting wager against Kansas State.

    Notre Dame (-10) at Purdue - O/U 45.5 - money line: Purdue +320

Notre Dame is coming off just an atrocious 16-14 loss to Northern Illinois last week, and now the question has to be asked. Will the Irish rebound or do they have a fractured offense? They are traveling to Purdue, who isn’t a great team, but the Boilermakers smell blood in the water. Maybe Notre Dame rights the ship but there’s a chance they aren’t mentally locked in. Take Purdue to cover the spread, especially at home.

    (1) Georgia (-24) at Kentucky - O/U 45.5 - money line: Kentucky +1500

Kentucky is coming off of a rough showing last week against South Carolina, which is a reason for this line ballooning to this point. Georgia has been good so far, but a three score spread feels a little bit high. The Wildcats have a very strong defense led by defensive tackle Deone Walker and cornerback Maxwell Hairston. If the offense can muster just a solid performance, they have a chance to cover against Carson Beck and the Bulldogs. It will be up to quarterback Brock Vandagriff, and whether he can get the passing attack going.

    Cincinnati Bengals (0-1) at Kansas City Chiefs (1-0) (-6) - O/U 48.5 - money line: Cincinnati +200

There may be a little bit of a recency bias here with the Bengals. Yes, they looked bad last week in the loss to the New England Patriots. That was also one of the worst games we have seen from Joe Burrow in a Bengal uniform. The offense was all out of sorts. The odds tell us that it isn’t overly likely that Burrow has that type of game again. Over the year, he has also had a lot of success against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. While the Chiefs should win this contest, covering the six points seems more than doable.
