Dolphins Activate Robbie Chosen For Week 2 Matchup VS Rival Bills

The Miami Dolphins, dealing with injuries, are set to face the Buffalo Bills in the first Thursday Night Football matchup of 2024 on Prime. In their season kickoff against the Jaguars, Miami got off to a slow start but rallied late to get a win. The Bills faced a similar circumstance, down late against the Arizona Cardinals, but managed to make out with a win.

The AFC East rivalry will go a long way to deciding the AFC playoff picture. The Dolphins will have to battle through key injuries to defeat the Josh Allen-led Bills, however, they enter the game as slim favorites to win.

Dolphins Injury Inactives Against Bills

The Miami Dolphins have confirmed they will be without their back-to-back team rushing yard leader, Raheem Mostert. Mostert,32, has rushed for 3,522 yards in his 10-season career. He reportedly suffered a chest injury against the Jaguars in the season opener. Rookie receiver Malik Washington has also been listed as inactive in this matchup due to a quadriceps injury.

Their backup runningback and splash playmaker De’Von Achane remains questionable to play, leaving the running back room searching for new answers with Jeff Wilson Jr and rookie Jaylen Wright. Safety Elijah Campbell also landed questionable to play with an Achilles aggravation.

The Buffalo Bills have injury concerns of their own, particularly missing starting cornerback Taron Johnson.

Dolphins Activate Veteran Receiver Robbie Chosen

Robbie Chosen, formerly Robby Anderson, Robbie Anderson, and Chosen Anderson, has bounced around as many teams as he has names since his drafting in 2016. From the Jets to Carolina, then a short stint in Arizona landed Chosen on the Dolphins in 2023. In the 120 games he appeared in, Robbie Chosen has hauled in 5,082 yards and 30 touchdowns with an impressive 12.4 yards per catch average.

At 6’3″ with a 4.39 40-yard dash, Chosen’s size and speed are rare in the NFL. While he lacks elite route running and hands, his knack for getting open and making big plays poses a unique challenge for defenses. Following the confirmation that rookie Malik Washington would not appear against the Buffalo Bills, Robbie was chosen as the next man up to make plays for the Dolphins.

Chosen’s Potential Effect

Robbie Chosen is a more than serviceable NFL wideout, even in the later stages of his football career. With unique tools and a general familiarity with the NFL lifestyle, Chosen could offer more to the Dolphins’ offensive game plan than rookie Malik Washington. As the Bills search for answers in their backfield following an injury to standout corner Taron Johnson, Robbie may find more favorable matchups than expected.
