Exploring The Ghostly Presence of Harden House in Clermont, Florida

John Harden was an air-conditioning repairman from South Florida. At 18, he married his high school friend, Rita, and together they raised four children in Jacksonville. After 14 years, John left his family. About a year later, he remarried and moved to a house on Oscela Drive in Clermont, Florida. This house would later become known as the Harden House.

    A Tragic Night in 1975

In 1975, John moved into the house with his second wife and newborn son. One night, he woke up to the smell of smoke. His truck was on fire. While trying to put out the flames, someone striking him in the chest. The person responsible was never found. Strangely, seven years before this, a woman named June Farris had been having dreams of a house she had never seen before.

    June Farris' Strange Dreams

In 1972, June and her family moved to Florida. While driving through Clermont, she saw an old Victorian house and recognized it from her dreams. A few weeks later, she went inside and realized it was the same house. In 1978, June and her family moved into the house, and soon after, strange things started happening.

    Unusual Occurrences in the House

While unpacking, their boat hitch mysteriously lifted off the stand. Music boxes played by themselves, and heavy footsteps could be heard when no one was there. The family believed the house was haunted, though they didn’t see a ghost for several years. Then, one day, June’s daughter saw a ghost of a man walking down the stairs. The family believed it was John Harden.

    The Unexplained Mystery

After researching the house, they learned about John's unresolved case. June felt that John’s ghost was trying to reach out to her, possibly to solve the mystery of his death. The ghost, described as a man in his 30s, would sometimes check on June's grandchildren, just like John used to do with his children.

    Continued Strange Activity

In 1985, the Farris family sold the house to the Hatleys, who also experienced strange activity. However, the ghostly events stopped in 1992. To this day, John’s case remains unsolved, and the mystery of the Harden House lingers in the air, as unexplained as ever
