As the Los Angeles Rams navigate the early part of the season, rumors are swirling about a potential reunion with former wide receiver Robert Woods. These discussions are primarily driven by the injury concerns surrounding current receiver Puka Nacua, who could be out for more than four games after being placed on injured reserve.

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report suggested that Woods, who played a significant role in the Rams' success from 2017 to 2021, could help alleviate the team’s depth issues at receiver. With Nacua sidelined, the Rams may need to consider bolstering their receiving corps, and a trade for Woods seems like a plausible option.

Last season, Woods played for the Houston Texans, where he recorded 40 catches for 426 yards and a touchdown, though he wasn’t a focal point in their offense. This year, with the Texans featuring a crowded receiving corps, including players like Nico Collins and Stefon Diggs, Woods might have fewer opportunities, making a trade more likely.

Rams head coach Sean McVay has remained cautious about player recoveries, emphasizing that there’s no set timeline for injured players to return. "Let’s not place expectations on when they’re going to come back," McVay said, reinforcing his commitment to player health amid mounting injuries.

With Nacua, guard Steve Avila, and tackle Joe Noteboom all on injured reserve, the Rams are facing significant depth issues. Their Week 1 loss has heightened the urgency to find reinforcements, and adding a veteran like Woods could bring much-needed experience and stability to the receiving unit.

The Rams have already been proactive, adding players to their practice squad to shore up their offensive line. Reuniting with Woods could strengthen their offense and provide a familiar presence as the team looks to overcome early-season challenges. As injuries continue to impact the roster, Woods emerges as a potential trade target to help the Rams regain their footing.
