People are left concerned once again about the health of Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. The Fins QB went down in the third quarter of Thursday night’s ball game at home versus the Buffalo Bills after suffering what was later deemed a concussion.

It’s not the first time that Tagovailoa has suffered such an injury, and the latest could result in the end of his playing career.

Several fans on social media immediately called for Tagovailoa to wear a guardian cap if he intends to continue playing in the NFL. According to NFL research, guardian caps can soften blows by at least 10 percent (h/t ESPN ).

“Tua & Denzel Ward should be playing football with a guardian cap every week,” said X (formerly Twitter) user @zimwhodey. “I’m sure there are others also, but your brain is your most powerful tool. Don’t ever take that for granted.”

“If Tua does play football again, he should have to wear a guardian cap,” echoed @Mfranknfl.

“If there was one NFL player who should've been wearing the Guardian Cap, it's Tua,” @mattisforreal chimed in. “I suspect the NFL will mandate it soon enough.”

From @SavageSports_: “I feel for Tua. This is getting extremely scary. He’s at the point where he could consider retiring to save his brain. At the minimum wear a guardian cap. So sad.”

Via @MattSBrodsky: “Whenever Tua does come back, he better be in a guardian cap.”

“If Tua wants to prolong his NFL career, then I think it’s time he permanently wears a guardian capped helmet,” said @Leuzer6.

It can be recalled that the former Alabama Crimson Tide star quarterback suffered two concussions during the 2022 NFL season. Although he did not get concussed in the 2023 campaign, the concern about his health and future on and off the field has always been around him ever since.
