    Bicyclist struck and killed on Brooklyn's Belt Parkway

    NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD's Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a 43-year-old man who was struck by a vehicle on the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn early Friday morning.

    It happened at about 2:40 a.m. on the Belt Parkway at 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge, cops said.

    According to police, the bicyclist was traveling westbound when he was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound.

    He was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn where he was pronounced dead.

    The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene.

    An investigation remains ongoing.

    The identity of the deceased is pending family notifications.
