Dream starting fives are always an interesting topic to talk about. It's fascinating to see how players value other players and where they place themselves among the best. Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant has some unlikely players on his ideal starting five.

In a podcast episode, Durant named his perfect starting five. It features himself (of course), LeBron James, Joel Embiid... and Klay Thompson. It's certainly interesting to have Thompson on the roster, considering that he picked MVP candidates. However, Durant cited his size and shooting as reasons why he'd select Klay.

Here's the video of Durant talking about his perfect starting five with New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner.

Thompson is an interesting choice for this lineup, though it does make sense. In this hypothetical, you already have four ball-dominant stars: Luka, LeBron, Embiid, and KD. Thompson, who is arguably the greatest off-ball shooter of all time, would fit well with this team.

Durant also knows just how good Thompson is. The two played together during the former's stint with the Golden State Warriors. They won two championships together, with both players doing equal damage at different points.

Now, both Durant and Thompson are on different teams. Thompson has left the Warriors for the Dallas Mavericks, while Durant is now with the Suns.
