More and more each day, I often think to myself, "Is anyone out there having as much fun as Tony Hawk on a daily basis?" The easy answer is, no. I don't think so!

Regardless, he hopped on Instagram recently to hit us all with another incredible recreation that (yet again) stemmed from a simple "What if?" thought—to recreate an iconic J. Grant Brittain photo in the same outfit he wore back in 1987. Stuff like this will truly never get old. Take a look:

As always, it's simply better to let Tony tell the story. Here it is:

"Inspired by this 1987 photo that J. Grant Brittain took, Mike Hathcote made an exact replica of the board I was riding, with era-specific trucks, wheels, accessories and stickers. Once he showed it to me, I understood the assignment: to recreate the photo in the same outfit with the same photographer. It was perfect timing as Grant and I are currently collaborating on a photo book for Genesis Publications and this side mission will be a fun addition. Thanks for the time warp Mike! Also: 97’s are for the streets."

These recreations have me fired up! I absolutely loved when Tony flew to New York to recreate the legendary Central Park Mystery Skater photo (you should really watch that if you haven't yet) and the fact that he and Jason Ellis recreated  Grant's timeless Animal Chin Ramp photo at Woodward was an absolute treat.

It just tells me that Tony is always down. Have a crazy idea? Well, tell it to The Birdman and watch it magically turn into a reality! Also, the fact that he and Grant are currently working on a book together has me so stoked. The amount of history these two share—and the truly iconic moments they've created over the past however many decades—is nothing short of monumental. And they're both still at it!

I've always loved this photo, so this whole situation hit me hard. To Tony and Grant—never stop having fun! Whether you know it or not, you continue to inspire countless individuals and we're all so thankful for it. What's next?
