NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A 75-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl were shot and wounded as a teen shooter on a moped opened fire on a Queens street Thursday afternoon, police said Friday as they weighed charges against three teens in custody.

Bullets flew around 4:30 p.m. at 243rd Street and Weller Avenue in Rosedale as the man was riding a bicycle and the girl was standing in a driveway.

The man was shot in his jaw, while the girl was shot in her thigh, according to the NYPD. They were both in stable condition at a hospital Friday.

“I just saw the old man, and he was on the floor like really in pain, and he was bleeding from the floor,” a man at the shooting scene told WABC-TV .

Another witness said four or five shots rung out on the quiet residential street. “I’m absolutely upset, this is unacceptable,” she said. “I’ve been living here for about 30 years, I’ve never experienced anything like this.”

The wounded man was definitely an uninvolved bystander, sources told 1010 WINS. The girl was standing with a teen boy and some others at the time and may have been among those targeted.

Three teen boys were taken into custody in connection with the shooting, police said. They were held overnight by police, with charges against them pending Friday.

Two of those teens were on a moped, and one of them is believed to be the shooter, police said.
