Golden State Warriors Are Interested in Miami Heat Superstar

The trio of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson might no longer be together in the Bay Area but that does not mean that the Golden State Warriors won't be looking to compete for the Championship in the near future. Could a Miami Heat superstar be the answer to their problems?

They have a limited window to make the most of Curry's remaining prime. At this point, they do not have the team to compete for a ring though.

Something similar could be said about the Heat, who have not made any significant moves this offseason while others around them have strengthened considerably.

Jimmy Butler's future has been a topic of discussion for a while. There were suggestions that he wanted a max contract extension this summer but the Heat were not keen on the idea.

Butler would become a free agent next summer if he does not pick up his player option. And there is a possibility that he could decide to test the market if he does not get the deal that he is looking for from the Heat.

In that scenario, could the Bay Area be his next destination? According to Hoops Wire , Sam Amick said on The TK Show : "Jimmy Butler’s going to be a free agent next summer.

"Didn’t get an extension done. The Warriors have interest there and probably made a couple calls [to Miami] this summer."

Someone like Butler could be a solid addition to the Warriors. He has already proven himself in the postseason time and again.

The Warriors are not the only team to be linked with Butler recently either. The Brooklyn Nets are believed to be a possible option as well and are projected to have plenty of cap space next summer, potentially north of $60 million.

Of course, the chances of him remaining in Miami cannot be ruled out either. If he goes on to have a great 2024-25 season, expect the Heat to be much more open to the idea of handing him a max extension.
