It's no secret that Australian Shepherds are intelligent and athletic. Their DNA as working dogs makes them a truly impressive breed. However, this dog's ability to learn complex yoga poses takes their high IQ to an entirely new level.

In fact, his form is more spot-on than most humans. While his dog trainer, Mom, undoubtedly deserves some of the credit, this good boy is the definition of a star student.

Check out this video shared on September 10 to see this adorable athlete showing off his remarkable skill.

Woah! Talk about talent! Sam is a sensational learner, and his mom, Anabel (@ samandanabel ), is a terrific teacher. Although my pups are experts at performing downward dog, these poses are over the top. And this Aussie isn't just doing them. He's doing them in perfect harmony with his sensational instructor. He's a total pro at balancing tabletop pose and even knows how to reach his front leg to the sky, turn his head under, or kick his hind legs out to stretch. The best part is how happy he is doing it, especially at the end when he and Mom bowed together. Although I'm not a particular fan of yoga, I might consider a daily session if my dogs joined me.

Which Breeds Are Easiest to Train?

    1. Border Collies almost always tops the list as the most intelligent dogs. Because they were built for herding, they had no trouble understanding multiple commands or making decisions on their own.

    2. German Shepherds are known for their outgoing nature, which makes them terrific police and military dogs. Their high trainability also makes them ideal as service animals.

    3. Golden and Labrador Retrievers are friendly, smart, and willing to please, making them favorites for search and rescue and therapy.

Poodles, Rottweilers , Doberman Pinchers, Papillons , Australian Cattle dogs, and Shetland Sheepdogs round out the top ten on researcher Stanley Coren's list of smartest breeds . But it's important to remember that every dog is unique. While they may belong to a specific breed, their eagerness and learning ability depend on many factors besides genetics.

People were thrilled to see this duo perform. One person shared, "So absolutely wonderful! What a beautiful dog! Your training is unbelievable! It is just so special to watch you both! Amazing!" They really are. Another person joked, "Maybe instead of trying to convince my boyfriend to exercise with me, I can just train the dog instead." He'll make the perfect workout buddy if he's anything like Sam.

These two have inspired me to take up "Doga." However, it would probably be safer for my dogs and me if we tried meditating together first.
