Two days after Hurricane Francine caused sewerage issues in Jefferson Parish, the parish government is lifting its water conservation advisory.

Jefferson Parish emergency management director Joe Valiente told WWL's Tommy Tucker that the advisory was lifted early Friday morning. Valiente said the sewer system is fully functional. As a result result, residents may resume regular activities, such as washing dishes and washing their laundry.

The parish government had been asking residents to abstain from those and other activities that required heavy water usage to prevent sewerage backups. Hurricane Francine caused problems at the Eastbank sewerage lift pumps. Those problems have since been resolved.

Shortly after Jefferson Parish made its announcement, officials in Orleans and St. Charles Parish announced that they two had lifted their water conservation advisories.
