Miranda Lambert offered glimpses of her home state with her new “honky tonk as hell” record, Postcards from Texas . The powerhouse singer-songwriter celebrated “Album 10” as it made its long-awaited arrival on Friday (September 13).
Lambert, who was born in Longview, Texas, shares snapshots of destinations across the Lone Star State throughout the 14-track collection. The opening track on Postcards from Texas tells a wild story of a hitchhiking armadillo in Amarillo who “asked me for a light.” From there, Lambert, 40, takes listeners on a statewide journey with heartfelt ballads like “Santa Fe,” featuring fellow Texas-born artist Parker McCollum , “January Heart,” “Way Too Good At Breaking My Heart” and more. She also amps up the energy on honky tonk-worthy anthems like “Armadillo,” “Alimony,” and “B**** On The Sauce (Just Drunk),” to name a few. Postcards in Texas comes to an end with Lambert’s rendition of David Allan Coe ’s mid-70's song, “Living On The Run.”
Lambert kicked off her Postcards from Texas chapter earlier this year with “Wranglers,” a blazing revenge anthem that nods to the Kerosene days earlier in her career. Postcards from Texas reunited Lambert with some of her previous collaborators, including Jon Randall and Jack Ingram ( The Marta Tapes ), Jesse Frasure , and others, plus her husband, Brendan McLoughlin .

Postcards from Texas is Lambert’s latest full-length album since Palomino arrived in April 2022. On that record, Lambert took listeners on a cross-country journey with stops in dozens of destinations and a unique cast of characters along the way. She juxtaposes Palomino with a home-based theme in her newly-debuted era, which quickly drew praise from fellow country artists Randy Houser , Jenna Paulette , Jake Worthington , Priscilla Block and more. Lambert said on a hand-written postcard, “a piece of my Texas heart is now yours.”
