Tua Tagovailoa's future in the NFL is up in the air. If you ask Mike McDaniel, football should be the last thing on the Miami Dolphins quarterback's mind right now.

On Thursday, Tagovailoa suffered his third career major head injury in a Week 2 contest against the Buffalo Bills. The fifth-year quarterback was diagnosed with a concussion after taking a blow in the third quarter at Hard Rock Stadium.

McDaniel spoke to reporters on Friday morning about Tagovailoa. The Dolphins head coach shared his lasting message to his quarterback as the 26-year-old recovers from another concussion.

“He’s the starting quarterback of his family," McDaniel shared that he told Tagovailoa. "Go in the locker room, take a deep breath and I’ll see you soon.”

McDaniel went viral on Thursday after cameras caught him kissing Tagovailoa on the head as the quarterback walked off the field.

For what its worth, experts have weighed in on Tagovailoa's potential timeline for a return from his injury.

McDaniel has been clear that he prioritizes Tagovailoa as a person far more than he does as a football player.

But the line between the two gets blurred the more Tagovailoa gets hurt, potentially affecting his life away from football.
