Los Angeles Lakers Could Target Chicago Bulls Veteran Instead of Zach LaVine

Chicago Bulls kicked off their rebuild this summer by parting ways with both DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso. But if they are to fully embrace it, they still need to say goodbye to a couple more players on their roster.

Zach LaVine is the name on top of that list. Over the next three seasons, he is set to make $138 million.

LaVine is a two-time All-Star but his injury problems have had an effect on his trade value. It won't be easy to find him a new organization but considering his proven scoring ability, there is still hope that the Bulls can make something happen down the line.

The Los Angeles Lakers need to make some moves if they are to have any hope of contending next season and have been suggested as a potential destination for LaVine.

LaVine is not the only Bulls player who might be able to add something to the Lakers though.

In the Bleacher Report article 'Potential Los Angeles Lakers Trade Targets This NBA Season', Eric Pincus suggested an alternative to LaVine as he wrote: "The Lakers could have an interest in Nikola Vucevic."

Vucevic is another player that the Bulls need to part ways with if they are planning to oversee a monumental rebuild.

Vucevic's contract is much smaller compared to LaVine. He has two years remaining on a three-year, $60 million deal.

Just like LaVine, Vucevic is also a two-time All-Star. The 33-year-old's numbers have dropped quite a bit over the past three seasons though. So, one has to wonder whether the veteran center would make enough of a difference for the Lakers to transform into contenders once again.
