State opening hurricane assistance pods in Terrebonne, St. Mary

The Louisiana state government will open pods to assist residents of Terrebonne and St. Mary Parishes whose homes were damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Francine.

According to state government officials, those pods will open Friday at noon. Those pods will distribute water, ice, and ready-to-eat meals (MREs) to those who need. However, tarps to cover damaged roofs will not be available at these pods.

The following locations will host the pods:
--Morgan City Auditorium
--Terrebonne Civic Center
--Montegut Recreation Gym
--Bayou Blue Fire Department Central Station
--Little Caillou Ward 7 Citizens Club (5006 LA 56, Chauvin)
--Living Word Church (1916 LA 311, Schreiver)
