As was reported by the Los Angeles “Eater”, without any notice or warning, all of Kevin Hart's plant-based fast food restaurants closed yesterday. Hart's restaurants; which he has 50% ownership of; called “Hart House” have closed after 2 years of being open. They had locations in Hollywood, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), University Park & Monrovia.

Kevin Hart's goal for his small chain of restaurants was to create a vegan lifestyle that would attract both vegans and meat eaters and create more restaurants through franchising. In a unique attempt to get customers, Hart's team designed their own recipes, and plant-based proteins without relying on already created products. They sold what they called chick'n and meatless patties that were all plant based, along with tater tots and french fries.

They were very ambitious to have a restaurant near a very busy In-N-Out burger near LAX, thinking it would attract people to their restaurant, but it didn't work. The location was perfect, and the reviews were fairly good from most people, but it never caught on.

CEO Andy Hooper said, ““The response to the product has been incredible, and we thank our committed team, our customers, and our community partners for helping make the change we all craved, and for their unwavering support of Hart House,” Hooper told the outlet.

Several plant-based restaurants have closed down or been bought, and they just haven't caught on to the public yet. With many health conscious LA and west coast scene, many felt this was the place to launch their products, but many have failed.
