The New York Knicks lost Isaiah Hartenstein in free agency earlier this offseason, and he made a big impact for the team last season. As a result, the team could be active in the trade market for another center.

Per a recent report by ESPN's Brian Windhorst , he thinks the Knicks could be buyers at this year's trade deadline, and he labels Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III as a player to watch.

Mitchell Robinson missed a lot of time this past season with an ankle injury, and they will be hoping that he can stay on the court much more this coming season. but if he can't, trading for more depth could be the way to go.

Williams has dealt with his fair share of injuries too, but the team could just be looking for some insurance at the position in order to take some pressure off of Robinson. He averaged 10 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks per game in the 2021-22 season, meaning he could be a good fit for the defensive minded Tom Thibodeau.

If the Knicks decide they want to get some more center depth, trading for a player like Williams could be a very intriguing option.
