Former Tennessee Vols standout shares hilarious fake injury story

If you've watched any Tennessee Vols football games over the last few years, you'll likely noticed that UT players often get injured after an extra point attempt.

This usually happens when Tennessee scores fast and the defense has to quickly go back onto the field.

The injury usually gives the defense a few extra seconds to catch their breath.

On a recent episode of the Macrodosing pod, former Vols running back Arian Foster shared a story of a time when he was asked to fake an injury on a kickoff during his rookie season with the Houston Texans.

"I did that once," said Foster after hearing the story of Tennessee's injuries after extra points. "This is my rookie year and we're in the huddle. Same situation happened. We scored too quick and we needed our defense to rest. And I was on kickoff. And they were like 'hey Arian, you're gonna fake an injury on kick off'. And I was like 'okay', because again, we needed our defense to rest. The funny thing is they called my mom, one of the dudes on the sideline, called my mom and was like 'hey, just letting you know, he's not hurt, he's just faking an injury to let the defense rest'. She was like 'okay'. So I run down, I just lay down. And then when they come up to me, because the trainers knew too, they're just like 'so what's up man?' and I'm like 'just chilling man', just had a casual conversation."

I'm sure this is something that nearly every college football and NFL team does at some point. And there's really no way to police it because you never know when an injury is legit or not.
