There is a lot of positivity around the Philadelphia 76ers going into the 2024-25 season. If things play out according to plan, they should be contending for the Championship.

The 76ers added key players like Paul George, Caleb Martin, Andre Drummond and more to an already formidable core over the offseason. They also secured a long-term extension for Tyrese Maxey.

Maxey does not seem to be the only one in line for a significant extension from the 76ers either.

According to Liberty Ballers , ESPN NBA Insider Bobby Marks said on a recent episode of The Lowe Post podcast: "I would expect a deal to get done with Embiid in the near future here, and I certainly think it will be at max money."

Embiid still has a contract with the 76ers for three more seasons although the 2026-27 season is a player option. So, do not expect to see him depart the City of Brotherly Love anytime soon, if ever.

Unlike the Maxey situation this summer, there is no benefit to the 76ers waiting to agree to an extension with Embiid. On the contrary, it would make more sense to get things over the line now as the cap will continue to rise in the upcoming years.

There are a few ways in which this new extension could be agreed upon, but ultimately, expect Embiid to make in the region of $190 million over those three years.

Of course, Embiid has had fitness issues throughout the course of his career and never really gotten close to even challenging for a ring.

Despite that, there is almost zero chance that the Sixers would consider parting ways with him anytime in the near future.

Embiid has been the face of the franchise for some time and now, for the first time, he might be gearing up for a title challenge. Could 'The Process' finally be complete next season?
