A former Croton-on-Hudson firefighter has been sentenced to five years of probation for a fatal hit-and-run from 2023. Authorities say 34-year-old Richard Lent, of Peekskill, died in July when his motorcycle was hit by a car on Route 9 near Senasqua Road. Police arrested 27-year-old Nicholas Edwards-Ambos two days later. Authorities say he was off duty at the time of the incident and is no longer with the department. He
pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of a fatal accident and was sentenced in Westchester County Court on Thursday. "
