John Janssen Explains Why He Didn’t Accept Shannon Beador’s Non-Disparagement Clause

Shannon Beador is carrying the weight of the Real Housewives of Orange County on her back for Season 18. Shannon did a horrible thing by driving drunk and crashing into a house, that’s undeniable. But it’s hard not to feel bad for her this season, especially when it comes to John Janssen .

John decided to stay in the RHOC spotlight by dating, and getting engaged to, Alexis Bellino . Alexis is back to wreak havoc for Shannon. While it’s hard to watch at times, it’s making for amazing TV. However, things have taken a legal turn that makes the entire situation that much messier.

John Janssen wants to defend himself

John and Shannon have found themselves in a legal battle over $75,000 that John allegedly gave Shannon for a facelift. John wants a refund, Shannon believes it was a gift and Alexis can’t help but get involved. In the latest RHOC episode , Shannon explained that John keeps denying her attempts to settle the case. Most recently, she allegedly offered to pay him the full amount if he would sign a non-disparagement clause. Johnny J denied and when he joined Alexis during a Watch What Happens Live appearance this week, he took time to explain his legal action.

Andy Cohen took a moment to ask Alexis and John, who sat in the audience, why he didn’t accept the deal. “Because I have been disparaged for almost five years,” John said. “Why would I put a legal muzzle on myself so I can’t actually correct the record?” All of this coming from a man who apparently wants nothing to do with being in the public eye. Interesting.

Andy went on to ask John, specifically, how he’s been disparaged. While John claimed to not want to get into details, he cited accusations that he fat-shamed Shannon and used her as a sugar mama as some examples. “It couldn’t be further from the truth,” John added. At this rate, John better be showing up to the upcoming RHOC reunion to further unpack all of this mess.
