WINSTON-SALEM, NC - With Buc-ee’s set to open its first North Carolina location in Mebane, speculation is growing about where the popular travel center might expand next in the state.

Known for its massive convenience stores, numerous fuel pumps, and clean restrooms, Buc-ee’s attracts travelers and locals alike. Several strategic locations in North Carolina could serve as logical choices for additional Buc-ee’s sites.

One promising location is along Interstate 95 near Fayetteville or Lumberton. As a major north-south corridor on the East Coast, I-95 sees heavy traffic from travelers heading between Florida and the Northeast, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

This makes this area an ideal spot for a Buc-ee’s.

Another potential site is along Interstate 77 near Statesville or Mooresville.

This route serves as a key connector between Charlotte and the Virginia state line, handling significant commuter and tourist traffic, especially from those traveling to the Appalachian region, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

Interstate 40 near Winston-Salem or Greensboro is also a strong candidate. As one of North Carolina’s busiest highways, I-40 connects the state’s major cities and serves as a crucial route for both local and cross-country travelers, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

Each of these locations offers high visibility, access to major travel routes, and the potential to draw large crowds, making them logical choices for Buc-ee’s future expansion in North Carolina.
