WWE RAW will undergo one of he biggest changes ever when they debut on Netflix, but will fans still have to sit through commercials?

Since 1993, RAW has been one of the main attractions on the USA Network. There was about five years when they left the network, before returning. Now,  WWE is really changing the pro wrestling game by brining RAW to Netflix. That deal begins in January and is worth over $5 billion over 10 years . There are options for both sides to leave early or add time to the contract. We have to see if the giant risk will increase viewership.

At one time, a major draw of streaming services was little to no commercials. Unfortunately, that has changed in recent years with all the platforms now having commercials; especially for the lower priced tiers. As for commercials, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reveals WWE RAW will have them on Netflix. “One reason Netflix picked up RAW is that they are working to incorporate commercials into their programming, and the pro wrestling audience is already accustomed to seeing ads during shows. However, Netflix will have more flexibility compared to traditional television. They can adjust the timing and duration of commercial breaks without the need for the show to adhere strictly to the second.”

WWE RAW With Commercials On Netflix Is Still Better Than The USA Network

Basically, we are stuck with those annoying breaks into the action. Maybe, if you buy one of the top tiers from Netflix, you might not get commercials. Instead, it could be filled with promos or clips of matches as the commercials air. It would be similar to what WWE does with Peacock and their premium live events.

We are still learning more about the big move. John Cena should be there frequently as he begins his retirement tour. Also, Roman Reigns and The Rock have been heavily discussed as being part of RAW in the beginning. Remember, RAW moves to Netflix in January, SmackDown is now on the USA Network and NXT will be going to The CW very soon. So, since WWE RAW will have commercials on Netflix, is that a negative?
