Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion during Thursday night's 31-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills on September 12, raising widespread concern. This injury marks his third concussion in two years, sparking growing fears for his well-being among fans, players and media alike.

Among those speaking out is Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce, who voiced his concern for Tagovailoa during a press conference on Friday.

Pierce, who took over as interim head coach of the Raiders in November 2023 and became the official head coach in January 2024, offered strong advice on what he believes Tagovailoa should do next.

"I'll be honest, I'd tell him to retire," Pierce said. "It's not worth it."

Pierce explained that his concern goes beyond football, urging Tagovailoa to consider his long-term health and family. He stressed that the risks associated with continuing to play are too high.

"I’ve never witnessed anything like what has happened to him three times," Pierce added. "He's going to live longer than he'll play football. Take care of your family."

Tagovailoa’s latest injury occurred after a hard hit by Bills safety Damar Hamlin, adding to a troubling history of head injuries. In 2022, Tagovailoa suffered two serious concussions—one in a primetime game against the Cincinnati Bengals and another during a game against the Green Bay Packers.

With this latest injury, Tagovailoa’s future in the NFL remains uncertain. The recurring head injuries spark deeper concerns about his long-term health and well-being.

While Tagovailoa has shown resilience in returning from previous injuries, many now question whether it’s time for the star quarterback to walk away from the game.
