Although it was not a pretty showing for the Crimson Tide in their win against USF last Saturday, a few players stood out to help the Tide surge in the fourth quarter.

Senior defensive lineman Tim Smith, who has spent his entire collegiate career with Alabama, put on a show as he tallied up five total tackles and was a constant threat to USF's quarterback Byrum Brown in the fourth quarter.

Smith received praise from head coach Kalen DeBoer.

“He brings those elements- what we call non-negotiables," DeBoer said . "He holds our entire team to a standard every single day.“

Over Smith's career at Alabama, his production has only increased, and has been a vital piece to the defensive line position.

Smith would also comment about his defensive coordinator Kane Wommack, and how he has changed things for the better.

“I like Kane. I love him, man," Smith said . "I love that he’s actually there for us- the schemes that he’s put in to help the D-line be more productive this year. The first day here, he commanded the room. Everybody sat up.”

As the Tide get set to travel to Wisconsin in a huge marquee matchup, fans expect to see similar production from Smith, as well as the entire defense as DeBoer will truly see his first big test as Alabama's head coach.
