Mississippi University for Women's highly praised nursing program has been officially ranked the best in the state of Mississippi.

According to a press release from Mississippi University for Women, the Vandergriff College of Nursing and Health Sciences, having held a top position in state rankings for years, has been ranked by niche.com as the top nursing education program in the state.

The United States Department of Education data, along with reviews from students, factor into the ranking from niche.com.

Out of 761 schools ranked across the nation, The W's nursing program placed at 39, with a B for the overall grade. In addition, the website registerednursing.org has placed Mississippi University for Women's nursing program as the best in the state.

According to the press release, the rankings from registerednursing.org are gathered based on NCLEX-RN Scores. The NCLEX-RN exam is a test that nurses must take in order to be licensed as registered nurses. The Vandergriff College of Nursing and Health Sciences boasts the highest pass rate in Mississippi, scoring 99.36.
