    Kendrick Lamar — “Untitled Song”

Kendrick Lamar had a pretty big week. First, he announced his upcoming Super Bowl halftime show performance , where he’ll make history as the show’s first solo rap headliner. Next, he released a new untitled song for fans to dissect.

Supporters are calling the song “Watch the Party Die” due to the lyrics. “Dear God, please forgive me, you knowin’ how hard I tried / I think it’s time for me to watch the party die,” he raps on the song. “Get ’em gone, we gon’ watch the party die / Send ’em home, we gon’ watch the party die.”

Spectators wondered if this would be another shot in Kendrick’s Drake feud. However, Lamar instead seems to be focused his pen on the world at large more than on a single foe. “The radio personality pushin’ propaganda for salary / Let me know when they turn up as a casualty,” he raps. “I want agony / Assault and battery / I see a new Earth / Filled with beautiful people makin’ humanity work.”

That idea of destroying and rebuilding comes up throughout the song. “Burn a whole village, we start over, it’s really that time,” he says at one point. Later, he adds: “Lookin’ outside / The kids live tomorrow ’cause today, the party just died.”

It’s unclear whether this song will come out on digital streaming platforms. It is currently only available on Lamar’s Instagram account in the same way that “6:16 in LA” is still only available there. It’s also unclear whether it is part of a larger project, his long rumored follow-up to Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers . What is clear, however, is that Kendrick will be headlining the Super LIX halftime show and he’s already delivering new music.

The Weeknd — “Dancing In the Flames”

The Weeknd is back. This time, the Canadian crooner enters a new era with the release of his newest single, “Dancing in the Flames.”

The Weeknd produced this joint alongside Max Martin and Oscar Holter. “I can’t wait to see your face crash when we’re switching lanes,” he sings. “My love’s beyond the pain / But if I miss the brake / We’re dancing in the flames.”

He continues with a dystopian tone throughout the song. “The world can’t heal, they say on the radio,” he sings. “Grab the wheel, want ya to be in control / We’re dodging headlights / You say hold tight / Another odyssey.”

“Dancing in the Flames” is also slated to appear on The Weeknd’s forthcoming album, Hurry Up Tomorrow . “You can find love, fear, friends, enemies, violence, dancing, sex, demons, angels, loneliness, and togetherness all in the After Hours of the night,” Abel recently wrote on social media. “HURRY UP TOMORROW.”

The Weeknd also released the song’s music video, which was shot on an iPhone 16. It features dramatic car crash scenes mixed with moody colors and brooding symbolism.

Eminem — The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce): Expanded Mourner’s Edition

Eminem just released his newest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) . Still, the Detroit rhymer isn’t slowing up. Today, he unveils the album’s Expanded Mourner’s Edition .

There’s a new Steve Berman skit followed by three new songs. Westside Boogie and GRIP appear on “Fuel — Shady Edition” and 2 Chainz shows up on “Kyrie & Luka.” “Like My Sh-t” is the other song in the new edition.

The conceptual album sees the death of Slim Shady, a character that Marshall Mathers made to enhance his rap persona at the start of his career. But in a recent Complex interview, Marshall speaks to his alter ego about the idea as a whole, explaining the differences between Marshall, Shady, and Em.

“Calm down, Slim. We both made Eminem. He’s the best of both of us. It’s not about me or you. It’s about him and the fans,” Mathers says. “Dude, don’t stress out, man. I’ve done a lot of work on myself while you were gone. We’re in this together, baby.”

    Playboi Carti — “All Red”

The often-elusive and mysterious Playboi Carti says he’s finally dropping his new album, I AM MUSIC . To go along with the highly-anticipated LP’s confirmation, he also unveils his newest single, “All Red.”

Carti’s lyrics focus around the song’s title here. “All red, I stay with the fives / All red, we pull up and fire,” he raps on the song. “All red, somebody died.”

PBC then continues with his signature flow over F1LTHY, Ojivolta, Lucian, Lukrative, and Twisco production. “I come to your spot and spray up that sh-t / I come to your spot and I take that sh-t.”

Carti’s coming off a series of collaborations, including “Type Sh-t” (Travis Scott, Future, & Metro Boomin), “I LUV IT” (Camilla Cabello), and “CARNIVAL” (Kanye West, Ty Dolla $ign, & Rich the Kid).

Sadly, for many fans, I AM MUSIC does not yet have a release date.
