Will ‘Hot Ones’ Come To Netflix? Report Claims Sean Evans’ Show Could Join The Streamer’s Live Programming Slate

After hosting a live hot dog-eating event, Netflix is setting its sights on hot wings.

Bloomberg reports the streamer is in talks to create special live episodes of Sean Evans ‘ popular YouTube series Hot Ones , which would make it the latest program to join Netflix’s live programming slate, including WWE and the NFL.

The outlet reports Netflix is currently negotiating with Buzzfeed Inc., which owns the YouTube series. An agreement is expected to be reached this month.

While Hot Ones is not currently streaming on Netflix, the report notes that the streamer is interested in having Evans host live episodes specifically created for Netflix.

Decider reached out to Netflix reps for comment.

Netflix could be tapping into a niche audience with this acquirement. The hit series from First We Feast, which boasts 14 million subscribers, regularly nets millions of views. Every episode featuring a celebrity guest last season reached well over a million views, with Jennifer Lawrence ‘s viral interview reaching a whopping 16 million views.

Recent guests also include Ryan Reynolds , Hugh Jackman , Conan O’Brien , and Sabrina Carpenter .

Hot Ones could become the latest program added to Netflix’s growing live programming slate. The streamer will begin streaming Raw and other WWE events in 2025 under a new $5 billion deal signed earlier this year.

Under this 10-year deal, Raw will stream live every Monday night for 52 weeks a year in the United States, UK, Canada, and Latin America.

Netflix also has the exclusive rights to stream NFL’s Christmas Day games live beginning this year.

The streamer had some hits and some misses amid its recent ventures into live programming. Chris Rock ‘s 2023 comedy special Selective Outrage marked Netflix’s first-ever live event , complete with pre- and post-show coverage. The streamer saw more success this year with John Mulaney ‘s live variety show Everybody’s in L.A . , as well as special live sporting events including Unfinished Beef and Netflix Slam .

It looks like the streamer is ramping up its capabilities since the live Love is Blind Season 4 reunion in 2023 was delayed by 90 minutes due to technical difficulties .

Next up, Netflix will host Jake Paul and Mike Tyson in a live boxing event later this year.
