Final Vikings Injury Report Rules Starter Out Sunday
28 days ago
The Minnesota Vikings got out to a fast start for the NFL season. In their home opener, Sam Darnold and the Vikings took it to the New York Giants. The result was a big 28-6 victory.
However, Minnesota didn't exit the game fully healthy. Of course, this is nearly impossible to do in the game of football. However, a big injury to a starting wide receiver was concerning, especially so given his health leading up to the season.
In the final injury report for Week 2, the Minnesota Vikings have ruled out one starter while others are yet to be determined.
Minnesota Vikings Injury Report Rules Starter Out Sunday
We have the final Minnesota Vikings injury report which came out on Friday afternoon. The practice participation and game status are as follows:
WR Jordan Addison: DNP (Ankle) — OUT
CB Stephon Gilmore: DNP (Non Injury)
FS Harrison Smith: LP (Hip)
OT Brian O'Neill: LP (Elbow)
G Ed Ingram: LP (Tricep)
OLB Andrew Van Ginkel: FP (Foot)
C Garrett Bradbury: FP (Knee)
WR Jalen Nailor: FP (Ankle)
The Jordan Addison injury occurred during the Week 1 victory. He ended up leaving the game following three receptions for 35 yards, then he never returned. Given the preseason injury, it is not surprising to see Addison sidelined for this tough matchup against San Francisco.
In his absence, the Vikings should play Jalen Nailor. However, we have also seen the Vikings trust Brandon Powell, so expect him to be involved as well. With Minnesota being viewed as the clear underdogs in this game, we could see a lot of second-half passing from Sam Darnold. With him out two of his top three receivers, Jordan Addison and TJ Hockenson, it could be a tough Sunday against his former team.
