Sony has infuriated fans with its reveal of the PS5 Pro, which will cost $700 . With the high selling price, lack of games and Sony's choice not to include a disc drive, gamers are considering ditching their consoles for a PC.

The shocking $700 price tag of the PS5 Pro was disclosed right at the conclusion of the announcement stream, and infuriated PlayStation fans are currently mocking this pricing on social media . Players who are perplexed as to how PlayStation believes it can get away with an expensive next-generation update despite having relatively few games that will take advantage of it are present in almost every debate you can find regarding the PS5 Pro.

Feeling let down by PlayStation's recent transition to live service games , one Redditor laments the absence of "outstanding first-party console exclusive games in the pipeline". Many others are angry that the machine costs this amount without a disc drive; one user accused the business of "not adding a disc and making people pay more."

All it takes to uncover hordes of upset fans is to watch the launch trailer for the PS5 Pro, which has amassed a massive 107,000 dislikes so far and counting. It has also garnered an equally enormous number of comments, the most of which are highly critical and angry about the same topics as those on Reddit.

One YouTube mockingly commented "700 dollars. No disc drive. No stand. Incredible." Many have pointed out that you can actually buy multiple Switches for the price of one PS5 Pro and a disc drive. Fortunately, Nintendo is still a good option for fairly priced systems. It seems natural that the disdain for PlayStation will only intensify with the impending announcement of the Switch 2, a platform that will genuinely include games.

The cry "Just get a gaming PC" has been heard all over the internet in reaction to the console's announcement. Although I will always prefer playing games on consoles, PC gaming is at an all-time high right now since the barriers between consoles and PCs have been broken down and they now have access to all the titles.

That is, every game that isn't released by Nintendo. Even though there are still some shady ports available, you can't deny the performance boosts and higher realism that a powerful rig can provide. Aside from absurd Steam sales and an abundance of Epic freebies, there's also the value proposition to take into account: you just get more for your money.

However, that comes with a hefty upfront expense, unless you choose to forego power in favor of portability and use a Steam Deck instead. If not, the GPU by itself can easily make a PS5 Pro more expensive. I mean, some pay more than twice as much for a 4090. This massive GPU is undoubtedly far more powerful than anything you'll find on a console this generation, if not the next, but that's only one part of the machine. Investing in PC gaming is a big deal.
