Arne Slot has made a perfect beginning to life as the head coach of Liverpool. But Jurgen Klopp's successor, who arrived from Feyenoord in the summer, has insisted that his Reds side can still improve again .

Having undertaken some analysis on Liverpool’s first three games in his tenure during the international break, the Dutch boss believes there are areas where the Reds can do better. And the 45-year-old will continue to push his side in the right direction during the clash with Nottingham Forest at Anfield this weekend.

"There are many things, but it’s not like one big thing that we have to change completely," Slot said ahead of the resumption of the Premier League this weekend when asked about further improvements. So far under Slot, the Reds are yet to concede a goal.

"I think the way we defended crosses against Manchester United was not always spot on," Slot explained. "And the first half against Ipswich, we didn’t recognize they were putting us under pressure, one-vs-one, constantly.

"So we have to see earlier that we have to play over the press. Although we’ve done quite well, we’re still learning day by day, trying to teach them what we can improve.

"A lot of things have to be done better, but there’s not one thing that we do s**t — if that’s the right word. It’s more like we do some things really well eight out of 10 times, others three out of 10 and we’re aiming for 10 out of 10 in everything. We’ll never reach that — but we’re aiming for it."

Liverpool.com says: It's been a great start for Liverpool under Slot but there is no doubt that there are bigger tests to come. Even against Manchester United, that was a side that finished in mid-table last year. Winning by the same margin against a Champions League -level team will be a completely different ask — but that is the challenge that will arrive sooner rather than later.
