The Kansas City Chiefs were able to get the win in Week 1 of the regular season against the Baltimore Ravens, and a lot of it was due to the very solid play of their superstar field general.

In a recent article by Pro Football Network's Kyle Soppe , he grades the performances of each quarterback in the league in Week 1 of the season.

Patrick Mahomes comes out with the seventh highest grade with a 71 out of 100, as Soppe gives him a B-minus.

"Mahomes wasn’t great when the game was within one score in the fourth quarter last season. I’ll take it a step forward — he was actively bad in such spots, ranking 27th in passer rating. For reference, Mac Jones and Will Levis were better, "Soppe writes.

"Against one of the best defenses in the league on Thursday night, Mahomes corrected those flaws: 5-for-5 for 68 yards and a touchdown."

While Mahomes did throw an interception in the win, his stats otherwise looked fantastic, as we have come to expect from the two-time MVP.

He finished the game with 298 passing yards and a touchdown, and he did so while only missing eight of his 20 passes. He will be looking to prove this ranking wrong in the Chiefs' Week 2 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.
