Red Raiders vs. North Texas Mean Green Injury Update: Tahj Brooks Status?

The Texas Tech Red Raiders are preparing for the North Texas Mean Green in Week 3 after suffering an embarrassing and disappointing loss in Pullman, Washington in Week 2.

While the Tech offense struggled mightily last week against the Washington State Cougars, it didn't help that starting running back Tahj Brooks was sidelined with an arm injury.

Heading into an important matchup with the Mean Green, Brooks' status has not been updated, and he's listed as questionable against North Texas.

If he has to miss a second straight game, Cam'Ron Valdez and Cameron Dickey will most likely again split carries in the Red Raiders backfield.

Brooks announced back in December that he would return to Texas Tech for his senior season, and has accumulated 3,205 yards on 620 carries over five-plus seasons in Lubbock. He's also added 29 touchdowns on the ground and one more through the air.

The Red Raiders are also short at linebacker after both Joseph Adedire and Dylan Spencer were ruled out before the season began with offseason knee injuries.
