Arch Manning Poised for Potential Role in UTSA-Texas Game

The No. 2-ranked Texas Longhorns are off to an incredible start in their 2024 college football campaign.

Heisman Trophy favorite Quinn Ewers and the Longhorns kicked off their season with a 52-0 blowout over Colorado State in Week 1, then followed that up with a dominant Week 2 win over the then No. 10-ranked Michigan Wolverines.

Texas will look to continue its dominance in Week 3 with a matchup against the visiting UTSA Roadrunners. The Longhorns are listed as 35.5-point favorites over UTSA, meaning another blowout could be on the horizon.

Ewers is the Longhorns' unquestioned starting quarterback, but a big lead for Texas could mean some meaningful career snaps for sophomore superstar Arch Manning.

After the Longhorns notched a comfortable lead over Colorado State in Week 1, head coach Steve Sarkisian put Manning under center. The former No. 1 overall recruit completed five of his six pass attempts for 93 yards and his first career touchdown pass. He also recorded a three-yard touchdown run on the ground.

Though Texas took care of business against Michigan with a 31-12 final score in Week 2, Manning didn't have a chance to take the field in the Big House.

Back at home against UTSA on Saturday night, Manning could very well take some snaps under the lights at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
