Harris Spox Goes on Fox News and Says Trump Is ‘A Faded Image of His Former Self’

Ian Sams, the senior spokesman for the campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris, attacked former President Donald Trump as a shell of his former self Friday afternoon on Fox News.

Sams joined host Neil Cavuto to discuss the stakes of the 2024 presidential race just days after the two sparred on a Pennsylvania debate stage. During the 90-minute debate, Trump took the bait when Harris hit him over the substance of his rallies and the number of attendees.

“She said people start leaving,” Trump said in response. “People don’t go to her rallies. So she can’t talk about that. People don’t leave my rallies.”

On Friday’s edition of Your World, Cavuto asked Sams to comment on the level of enthusiasm for the candidates. The two sparred over crowd sizes during the following exchange:

CAVUTO: Let me ask you a little bit about the whole crowd size thing. I mean, the former president might stretch certain truths a little far. But when it comes to crowds at his rallies, he does pack them in. I think you would have to admit that. And his crowds are significantly bigger than Kamala Harris’s crowds, would you acknowledge at least that much?

SAMS: I’m not sure if you have been watching crowds and rallies over the last couple of months and I don’t think that’s the case. I think we’ve seen a lot of people who are wandering off in the middle of 45-minute-long rants about electric sharks and Hannibal Lecter, whereas the vice president–”

CAVUTO: I do see some people leaving. I watch these things. I would hardly say it’s a significant number. Any more than those who might wander out of a Kamala Harris rally. I guess I’m wondering, would you at least, on that, say what you will of the former president, he can pack them in.

SAMS: He used to. He’s a faded image of his former self. I think in 2016 he had a lot more excitement and a lot more people showing up. I think now, you know, we’re on season nine of this show and maybe they’ve lost the plot a little bit and I think would prefer a new set of characters.

CAVUTO: Maybe we can argue over numbers and all of that, but he doesn’t see to have any problem of getting people to come up to venues, hours sometimes a day, ahead of an event.
