A 45-year-old Anaheim man pleaded guilty Friday and was immediately sentenced to 10 years in prison for stabbing two patrons in a restaurant in Anaheim.

Jose Islasrios pleaded guilty to attempted murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with sentencing enhancements for attempted premeditated murder and inflicting great bodily injury on a victim.

Islasrios accepted a plea bargain from Orange County Superior Court Judge Larry Yellin, who granted 1,321 credits behind bars for the defendant.

Police were called about 5:30 p.m. July 24, 2021, to a Mexican restaurant in the 1700 block of West La Palma Avenue regarding the stabbing of two men, according to police.

Islasrios, who lived near the restaurant, was a regular there, but police said he walked in unprovoked and stabbed two patrons.

The victims sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries, Carringer said.
