Caitlin Clark is not a WNBA superstar by accident. While she may have a natural talent for playing ball, the fact of the matter is that the Indiana Fever has worked and continues to work extremely hard behind the scenes to be where she is today.

Not everyone is capable of this. It takes some strong mental will and an elite mindset to be able to come in to practice every single day to work on one's craft. In a recent interview, Clark spoke about exactly this as she revealed her view on putting in work day in and day out. In fact, the 22-year-old admitted that for her, it doesn't even feel like work.

"I enjoy coming to practice," she said on Friday, September 13, ahead of the Fever's home matchup against the Las Vegas Aces (h/t Indiana beat reporter Matthew Byrne of ClutchPoints ). "I don't know if everybody says that, but I do. I love practice. We just try to keep it light and fun and have a good time with each other."

Even Clark herself is well aware of the fact that she has a rather unusual mindset when it comes to practice. While most players take no issue with the daily grind, Clark's exuberance for practicing every single day is somewhat unexpected.

Then again, this is exactly what sets her apart from the rest of the pack. She just sees things differently, and this perspective of hers carries over to the way she plays. It also has the tendency to rub off on her Fever teammates.

"You can tell we have a lot of fun out on the court," she said. "We play basketball where we celebrate our teammates' success. I think that's what overall has brought us more team success.

"For me, I try to bring that every single day. If it wasn't fun, I don't think we would love doing it. Like I've said many times, it doesn't feel like a job. I feel like a little kid."

A little kid who has come out and taken the WNBA by storm , that is.
