Caitlin Clark Pulls Out 'Vintage' Move, Celebration in Fever-Aces

On Friday night, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever suffered a 78-74 loss to A'ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces, their second to Las Vegas in three days. The Aces won the battle on Wednesday, 86-75 and secured the season sweep in Friday's contest.

Throughout her basketball career for the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Fever, Clark has made a name for herself with her classic stepback three. She pulled this move out once again on Friday and left the commentators amazed.

With 50 seconds remaining in the third quarter, Clark hit a crossover move and a stepback three with an Aces defender all over her. She then celebrated with her usual tongue-out gesture.

Immediately after the play, the Fever play-by-play voice Pat Boylan expressed his excitement by calling the move and celebration from Clark "vintage."

"I don't know if you can be vintage at age 22, but that is the vintage Caitlin Clark," Boylan said.

This three marked Clark's 14th point in the third quarter alone. For the game, Clark finished with 18 points on 7-of-18 shooting, eight rebounds and ten assists. She also broke the WNBA record for most assists in a single season.

The Fever have now fallen to 19-19 on the season, losing their first winning record in over five years after dropping three of the last four games. Indiana will have to win out to finish the season above .500.

The Fever only have two games remaining in the regular season and own the sixth seed in the WNBA Playoffs. They will be back in action on Sunday, September 15, against the Dallas Wings for their 2024 home finale.
