Low-cost Mexican airline adds non-stop cheap flights between California and popular resort town

Volaris, Mexico’s largest airline, is set to begin daily nonstop flights between San Francisco Bay's Oakland International Airport (OAK) and Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) in March 2025. This new route marks the first-ever Volaris service from the U.S. to the stunning beaches of Baja California, offering travelers from the Bay Area easy access to popular Mexican Riviera destinations like Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo.

Daily service will commence on March 20, 2025, with southbound flights departing Oakland at 12:30 PM and arriving in Los Cabos at 3:38 PM. Northbound flights will leave Los Cabos at 4:38 PM and return to Oakland by 7:49 PM. The flight schedule is designed to optimize vacation time, aligning perfectly with hotel check-in and check-out times.

The new flights to Cabo are well timed for hotel check-in and check-out allowing Volaris customers to optimize their fun and relaxation at this very popular destination,” said Craig Simon, Director of Aviation at the Port of Oakland.
