(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A woman is dead, and two other people are in critical condition after a bizarre incident in the South Loop early Saturday morning involving a tow truck. Police continue to look for the driver of the tow truck.

Chicago Police say a tow truck driver backed into an SUV near Clark and Roosevelt, causing the SUV to hit another vehicle that lost control and slammed into a wall. This happened around 2:15 a.m.

Three people were ejected, including a 21-year-old woman who died after sustaining a serious head injury. A 19-year-old man and 20-year-old woman are both in critical condition.

Police say the driver of the SUV stayed on the scene. The tow truck driver took off before cops arrived.
