Dana White is set to make history on Saturday with his company’s latest pay-per-view event, UFC 306. However, it seems the UFC boss is potentially dealing with early signs of CTE.

Much like Vince McMahon in professional wrestling, Dana White has taken the sport of MMA and the UFC to never-before-seen heights. The company is the biggest global brand in fight sports and has been the home for the greatest MMA fighters of the past and present.

Breaking new ground and records is something the UFC has done for years and will do so again this weekend with UFC 306. The card will take place inside the Las Vegas Sphere and White has already confirmed the event will be their most expensive. While also bringing the largest arena gate the company has ever seen.

There is a lot to be happy about in the land of UFC. But in an interview with TIME ahead of UFC 306, the 55-year-old revealed his previous boxing training has created a serious health concern.

“I used to box when I was younger,” White said [h/t MMA Mania]. “I went in and I did one of those brain studies and I have black spots all over my brain from what I did. [But] I wouldn’t take one punch back. Not one. The position that I’m in right here, right now, today, I wouldn’t take one punch back because I loved it that much.

“… How do you want to live your life? What do you love and what are you passionate about? People always ask me, what if your daughter wanted to fight? If she really loved it, am I going to tell her no? It’s what she wants to do.”

Black spots on the brain are a potential sign of Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). A serious brain disorder suffered by many athletes in sports that suffer blows to the head. CTE can often lead to symptoms like memory loss, confusion, impaired judgment, impulse control problems, aggression, depression, anxiety, suicidality, parkinsonism, and even progressive dementia.”

One has to wonder if the ailment could potentially force him out of his role as the president of the top combat sports company of all time.
