Former Alabama head coach Nick Saban has found his niche in his post-retirement career. Saban appears comfortable in the role he's found on ESPN's "College GameDay."

The legendary head coach displayed his comfort level on the show with a hilarious joke involving using pets to steal signs on Saturday.

ESPN college football analyst Kirk Herbstreit has often been seen with his pet dog on set. As a result, a current college football coach brought his own pet to his College GameDay interview.

During an interview with Missouri Tigers head coach Eli Drinkwitz, the camera revealed Drinkwitz walking alongside a robotic mascot. The Missouri coach shared that the robotic pet was brought on the field as a tribute to Herbstreit and his dog.

During the interview with Drinkwitz, Saban took the opportunity to showcase his quick wit. He joked with Drinkwitz about whether or not the coach was using technology to gain an advantage.

"I just want to make sure you're not using that dog to steal signals or anything during the game," Saban quipped.

The lighthearted moment brought a laugh from Drinkwitz and the College GameDay crew. The Missouri coach replied, "No, this dog's not a sign stealer, I don't think."

Whatever Missouri's defense is doing this year is working. The Tigers are off to a strong start to the season with a shutout in each of the team's two games.

Drinkwitz and company will look to stay undefeated in a game against Boston College on Saturday.
