The unranked South Carolina Gamecocks welcomed the No. 16 LSU Tigers for a featured college football matchup on Saturday afternoon.

ESPN's College GameDay made the trip down to Columbia for this highly-anticipated matchup. The crew moved into Williams-Brice Stadium before kickoff, and paused for the performance of the Star-Spangled Banner.

The national anthem was performed by South Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture Hugh Weathers.

Weathers has served as the state's Commissioner of Agriculture since 2004, and has performed the national anthem at several South Carolina events.

Weathers' performance garnered some significant traction on social media.

"@HughWeathers getting my some TV time on @CollegeGameDay singing the National Anthem," one fan wrote.

"Please someone tell me is that Commissioner of Agriculture With the Voice of an Angel Hugh Weathers singing the national anthem???" another asked.

"Commissioner of agriculture hugh weathers just sang the national anthem at the carolina game - p cool tbh," another added.

"I always enjoy SC Secretary of Agriculture Hugh Weathers is singing the national anthem because he has a fantastic voice, but also because there is always a group of people stunned to find that out," another wrote.

South Carolina opened up the game with a 7-0 lead over LSU in the first quarter.
